Good Morning!!

Well, it's a cool dreary day here in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and my DH says they are predicting SNOW!! Oh my. I'm not ready for that yet. I really don't mind the snow, but it's WAY too early for that. Hopefully he is misinformed (never wrong, lol).

We have a new addition at our house... no, I didn't have another child... that time is LONG past, but we bought ourselves another parakeet!! We're hoping that she's a girl but the pet store couldn't guarantee it yet. She's too young to know for sure, so for now I have called her Blue!! Original I know. LOL. Here is her picture.

Obviously, blue is the blue bird on the left. LOL. Leo is our "older bird".
OK... all this is leading to something. Bear with me. "Blue" needs a NEW name, one that is generic so we don't have to change it if she decides she is a HE!! Since my brain is tired out right now, I need some help. So..... CONTEST!!!
Please post me a new name for BLUE!! The winner will receive a prize from ME... !! Wanna know what it is? Nope. Not yet. You will have to come back to find that out, but I promise that it will be something that you will love!! So, post your choice of names for Blue and who knows... Maybe you will win!! You may enter as many times as you wish!! Now how's that for an offer. So, get thinkin'!

Hey Jude!!!
I love the anme of your grandmothers name! How very beautiful! Is that her picture? I love parakeets!!! I havent had a pet bird in forever! When growing up we had several. How about Cleo and Leo? If she is a she it could be short for Cleopatra. If he is a he then Cleo would be a good guys name. I enjoyed your blog and will be back!

What about Sky? That would work for either male or female, and suit it's color too.

We had a sweet little bird just like this. We named him Zeus and it suited him so well....he was so proud of his beautiful feathers. He died about a year ago and we still miss the little guy. He would stand on my finger; I loved listening to him sing. You are welcome to use Zeus if you like it. :)

Oh my.... Well, at least I don't have to pick until October 27th!! LOL. My mother even wanted to play, but she doesn't want a prize. She picked Dolly or Billie.

I thought of Skye for a name, but see that someone already suggested Sky. So how about Skylar? Should work for a male or a female. She/he's beautiful, by the way! WE used to have several parakeets but several died and the last one we gave to a friend of our daughters. We have two cockatiels that I have had for almost 20 years now - Chips and Rosie. Poor Rosie lays eggs all the time but Chips was handraised and is completely clueless as to his role of becoming a father so sadly, those eggs never hatch! Chips does do his duty and sit on them though - go figure. Probably just as well since I don't need batches of cockatiels to tame along with the rest of my critter duties!

She is so pretty! The color of her feathers are very close to a clolr called Maya Blue- so my vore is "Maya"

How about "INDIGO" as a name, and you could call her "INDY" for short - that would fit whether she's a she or a he.

We have a white with blue parakeet that we call Baby-Blue, even though his cere is now blue and he's considered an adult. Parakeets actually like the sounds of "b," "p," and "k" and when you whisper those sounds to them. So, you might want to choose a name that has a lot of those consonants.

PS: I don't have a blog, but I am on the P&R board, and my board name is starlove5:)
